How I can help

Every person’s story is different. You may arrive with a clear concern, or you may simply know that something needs attention. We can begin where you are and work towards a clearer understanding of your needs and possible next steps.

Pastoral counselling provides supportive conversation, reflection and practical guidance. It is not a promise of a particular outcome, and it may not be the right service for every concern.

Individual pastoral counselling

A confidential, supportive space to reflect on personal challenges and explore practical ways forward.

Areas we may explore include:

  • Stress and feeling overwhelmed
  • Burnout and the demands of everyday life
  • Grief, loss and life transitions
  • Situational anxiety and uncertainty
  • Personal boundaries and self-awareness
  • Questions of meaning, faith and spiritual wellbeing
  • Relationship patterns and personal growth

If you experience severe, persistent or worsening mental health symptoms, or need diagnosis or treatment, I may encourage you to consult a registered healthcare professional or mental health specialist.

Marriage and relationship support

Relationships can be a source of connection, growth and belonging, but they can also bring pain and recurring challenges.

Pastoral counselling may help individuals or couples to explore:

  • Communication and listening
  • Recurring disagreements and conflict patterns
  • Boundaries and expectations
  • Emotional connection and understanding
  • Relationship transitions
  • Shared values and faith

Relationship support is not a substitute for specialised intervention where there is domestic violence, coercive control, abuse or an immediate safety concern. Safety takes priority, and an appropriate specialist service may be needed.

For couples, each partner will be informed about confidentiality, records and how information shared individually will be handled before counselling begins.

Personal growth and wellbeing

Sometimes the goal is not to resolve a single crisis, but to understand yourself better and make intentional changes.

Sessions may focus on:

  • Self-awareness and personal values
  • Strengths and growth areas
  • Healthy boundaries
  • Emotional resilience
  • Habits that support wellbeing
  • Decision-making and life transitions
  • Faith, purpose and personal development

Workshops, speaking and team wellbeing

I offer workshops and facilitated conversations for groups, churches and organisations. These can be tailored to the needs of the group.

They may include:

  • Emotional wellbeing and resilience
  • Boundaries and sustainable ways of working
  • Temperament, communication and team dynamics
  • Healthy relationships and conflict
  • Marriage enrichment
  • Personal growth and faith-informed wellbeing

Workshop content, fees and arrangements are agreed separately. Workshops are educational and developmental; they do not constitute individual counselling, psychological assessment or clinical treatment.

Before you book

Is pastoral counselling right for me?

Pastoral counselling may be a helpful option if you would value a supportive space to reflect, explore personal or relational challenges and consider practical next steps, with Christian faith included where appropriate.

It may not be sufficient on its own if you need mental health diagnosis, psychiatric treatment, crisis intervention, specialised trauma treatment or another service outside my scope of practice. Where necessary, I will discuss referral options with you.

If you are unsure, you are welcome to contact me before booking. You can also see what a session costs and how booking works.
